In 2006, an emerging airline in the Middle East after being dissatisfied by its reservation system (CRS) experience from known providers, knew that its growth and competitive advantage goals can only be met through a robust CRS. Having determined that such a system was not readily available the airline, partnering with a well established technology company, formed ISA to develop a reliable and efficient system. The airline is Air Arabia, pioneer of the low cost concept in the region, the largest and most profitable low cost airline in the Middle East. The technology company is a subsidiary of John Keells holding with rich history in the IT sector with excellence in software development. JOHN KEELLS HOLDING (JKH), based on market capitalization, is the largest independent group in Sri Lanka and the largest company on Colombo Stock Exchange, with subsidiaries in every major sector.

After making the initial start-up investment, the holding companies saw fit to treat ISA as an independent business entity giving ISA the support and freedom to compete on the global stage. Our parentage has been instrumental in shaping our strengths and competitiveness. As an independent company we have consistently grown and recorded an annual profit in every year since establishment.

Since making our debut with just one product, a modern web based reservation system called ‘AccelAero’; our aim then as now continues to be quality, not quantity. We have made investments into latest technology solutions with the clear recognition that the aviation sector demands alternate solutions not only to the complex and expensive legacy systems but the numerous systems that over promise and under perform.The experience of building and operating key airline systems such as reservations for some of the world’s largest and most profitable airlines has helped us to push the technology envelope and develop cutting edge and sometimes unique solutions for the airline industry.

In the years since taking that first step onto the aviation IT scene, ISA has evolved into a global player with over 15 in-house developed products catering to airline, airport, travel and tourism sectors. We are proud to say we have made real progress since our early days, generating some fantastic milestones along the way, as well as setting ambitious plans for our future. Through the combined strength of our people, products and partners we aim to provide the most effective solutions to the aviation world in the most cost effective manner.
